HISTORY OF MYANMAR TRADITIONAL CHINLONE

  Myanmar possesses numerous indigenous cultural sports. Chinlone is a traditional sport that intrigues not only the Myanmar people but also some foreigners. Myanmar Chinlone is one of the traditional cultural sports of Myanmar. The unique characteristic of the Chinlone game is that it is not a competitive sport between individuals or teams; instead, it is a collaborative game where players work together to prevent the cane ball from touching the ground. The object, made of woven rattan and spherical in shape, is called a Chinlone. It is a game that can be played collaboratively by people of any ethnicity or gender.

  In 1926, during an archaeological research program conducted by the Myanmar Department of Archaeology in Khin Ba Gone, near Kyalarkone village, Myauk Zar Township, Pyay District, various entombed artefacts were unearthed, including statues, images, gold pagodas, silver pagodas, and gold-leaf manuscripts.
